LoopMash

LoopMash è un Vsti con il quale viene introdotto un nuovo concetto su Cubase; la creazione/gestione di Loop.

Dispone di una propria libreria di suoni integrabile naturalmente con le librerie dell’utilizzatore.

Il motore di LoopMash è il nuovo analysis/synthesis creato in collaborazione con Yamaha capace di trovare elementi simili all’interno dei loops e delle battute consentendo così la creazione di mash-ups.

• Brand-new, first-of-its-kind interactive loop synthesizer

Groove Agent ONE

Groove Agent ONE è fondamentalmente una Drum Machine. Dispone di una serie di drum kits (acoustic, urban, hip hop and dance) ma offre anche la possibilità di importare le proprie librerie sonore, creando quindi dei drum kits personalizzati.

Beat Designer

Beat Designer viene denominato beat construction plug-in.
Si occupa quindi di offrire all’utente la possibilità di creare drum patterns nel modo più semplice possibile. Lavora in stretto contatto con Groove Agent ONE utilizzandone i suoni. Tutti i patterns creati sono organizzabili in banchi e richiamati in tempo reale con una tastiera MIDI.

• Customizable resolution and time signature
• Support for flam hits and rolls

VariAudio

VariAudio è un plug-in che consente di  modificare l’intonazione di ogni singola nota all’interno di una registrazione vocale monofonica (in pratica una traccia mono).

Queste le sue caratteristiche tecniche:

• Gives you complete control over the melody and intonation
• Automatically corrects the intonation of vocal lines by quantizing the pitch and micro-pitch of an entire part
• All detected notes and segments can be converted to MIDI notes, including the micro-pitch envelope which translates to pitch bend MIDI data
• No noticeable artefacts, entirely preserve the soul of the recording and its sonic fidelity

PitchCorrect

PitchCorrect è un plug-in VST3 che controlla in modo automatico l’intonazione delle registrazioni vocali e strumenti solisti all’interno di tracce monofoniche.
PitchCorrect è basato sulla tecnologia sviluppata da Yamaha: Yamaha Pitch Fix technology. Questa tecnologia consente al Vst di monitorare costantemente l’intonazione del suono in ingresso e correggerlo immediatamente portando l’intonazione della nota rilevata come stonata alla nota più vicina. E’ possibile selezionare delle scale di riferimento tra quelle predefinite (minori, maggiori, cromatiche) e tra quelle definibili dall’utente.

REVerence

REVerence è il primo riverbero a convoluzione VST3 beneficiando quindi di ogni aspetto che offre questo standard.

Essendo a convoluzione, riesce a riprodurre degli ambienti estremamente realistici selezionabili da ben 70 inpulsi preset.

Nuovo sistema di automazione

Nuovo sistema di automazione, più trasparente, flessibile e chiaro. Tutte le automazioni sono controllabili da un pannello di controllo.

Ogni volta che viene assegnata una nuova automazione, Cubase propone il nuovo pannello di controllo attraverso il quale gestirla.

VST Expression

Key Editor e Score Editor migliorati. Ora è possibile, ad esempio se si utilizza un Vsti che riproduce suoni orchestrali, agire sull’articolazione degli strumenti in modo tale da rendere l’esecuzione ancora più realistica.

• Compatible with any current VSTi or stand-alone sample library, including Steinberg HALion Symphonic Orchestra and the new HALion ONE Expression Set 01
• Expression Map Editor provides mapping and remapping of articulation controllers, such as key switches, controller changes or MIDI channel remapping

• New Articulation Lane allows intuitive and fast editing of instrument articulations in the Key and Drum Editors
• When recording articulation changes, for example, key switches, the correct symbols are automatically added in the Score Editor

Nuova traccia dedicata alla Misura

Oltre alla già nota traccia Tempo, è stata aggiunta una traccia dalla quale controllare e modificare la Misura lungo tutta la durata del progetto.

• Available in both time linear and Bars+Beats modes
• Editing can be performed from both Info Line and Track Inspector, so advanced functions such as process tempo and process bars are always at your fingertips.
• Multiple selected events can be edited simultaneously, including drag ‘n’ drop actions
• Snap, Grid and Quantize function-dependent editing and Crosshair-cursor support

HALion Symphonic Orchestra

Purtroppo è inclusa solo in versione trial funzionante per 90 giorni.

Può naturalmente essere convertita in versione “full” acquistando ad un prezzo conveniente (così definito da Steinberg) la licenza.

Queste le sue caratteristiche tecniche:

Tra le altre innovazioni cito:

• Supporto nativo 64-bit con ottimizzazione per Vista 64. Questo porta ad un incremento della memoria allocabile da 2 Gb ad 1 Tb. Quindi, molte più tracce, plug-in, librerie etc. In questa versione (64-bit) è possibile utilizzare anche VST/i a 32-bit.
• Il framework utilizzato per la versione MAC  è stato rielaborato con Cocoa. Prima era sviluppato con Carbon.
• Cubase 5 sfrutta tutti i vantaggi del drivers WASAPI (Windows Audio Session API) di Windows Vista supportando le schede audio integrate dei computers e riducendo il più possibile la latenza.
• Virtual MIDI keyboard. E’ uno strumento che offre la possibiltà di emulare una tastiera midi servendosi di quella del proprio computer.

Quindi, che dire, almeno basandomi su queste novità mi sento di dire che sarà un ottimo prodotto.

Onestamente non vedo l’ora di provarlo.

Verrà distribuito in due versioni che prenderanno il nome di Cubase 5 e Cubase 5 Studio. Il loro prezzo sarà di circa € 370 per Cubase 5 (più economico della versione 4.5) e circa € 200 per la versione Cubase 5 Studio.
